For self-pay Zepbound, Wegovy or Foundayo, Gentle Health, Ro and Hims & Hers all charge the maker’s price for the medicine. The difference is the fee for the care: $28 a month at Gentle Health, against $74 to $149 a month at Ro and $149 a month at Hims & Hers after a $39 first month. Over a year, that is 12 × $28 with us, against $888 to $1,788 in care fees elsewhere. Ro does offer two things we don’t: help with insurance, and prepaid Wegovy plans that it says save up to $1,800 a year. Ro says its cash prices “match LillyDirect®, NovoCare®, and TrumpRx”, and its pricing page shows the same per-dose prices as the makers. Hims & Hers’ starting prices match the makers’ lowest-dose prices.

Where Ro may cost less
Wegovy on a prepaid medication plan. Ro says “you could save up to $1,800/year on your Wegovy pens with a multi-month medication plan,” and that multi-month plans save “up to 37% on eligible medications” (Ro pricing). Ro does not publish those per-fill prices.
If you plan to stay on Wegovy long term and can pay several months up front, ask Ro for that quote. At the full $1,800, a year on Ro’s annual plan would come out below a year of Wegovy bought from NovoCare through us. For Zepbound and Foundayo, Ro’s page lists only the makers’ prices.
Insurance. Ro offers a free insurance check and an “insurance concierge” that handles prior-authorization paperwork for the Wegovy pen and the Zepbound autoinjector pen. If your plan is likely to cover one of them, that can matter more than any fee. Gentle Health does not bill insurance or handle prior authorizations.
Pills and pens we don’t prescribe. Ro and Hims & Hers both list the Wegovy pill. Ro also offers the Zepbound single-dose pen through insurance. We prescribe the Zepbound vial and KwikPen, the Wegovy pen and Foundayo.
What else differs
- Who prescribes. At Gentle Health, every prescription is written by the same physician, James Simmons, MD, licensed in your state. That covers all 41 jurisdictions we serve.
- When you start paying. We charge nothing until the doctor writes the prescription. The intake and the doctor’s review are free.
- Commitment. Our brand-name care has no minimum. To reach Ro’s lowest fees, you prepay for 3, 6 or 12 months.
- What the fee includes. Ours covers the doctor’s care, unlimited messaging and video visits. Ro’s membership lists provider support, side-effect management, dose adjustments and health coaching.

Does Gentle Health take insurance like Ro? No. We don’t bill insurance or handle prior authorizations. If your plan is likely to cover Wegovy or Zepbound, a provider that handles the paperwork may cost you less.
