How to Get a Zepbound Prescription Online

You can get a Zepbound prescription online from a licensed telehealth doctor, then buy the medicine yourself from LillyDirect, Eli Lilly’s own pharmacy service. At Gentle Health, our doctor prescribes Zepbound as single-dose vials or the KwikPen in all 41 jurisdictions where our physician is licensed. You pay us $28/month for the doctor’s care, and you pay LillyDirect $299 to $449 for each four-week supply, as of October 19, 2026. How our care fee compares with other online providers is on our comparison page.

Here is who qualifies, what happens after the prescription is sent, what each month costs, and when another route may cost you less.

Who Zepbound is for

Zepbound (tirzepatide) is approved, along with a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity, to reduce excess body weight and keep it off long term in adults with obesity, or with overweight plus at least one weight-related condition. It is also approved to treat moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity (Zepbound prescribing information).

It is not for anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2, and the doctor will ask about your other medicines and health history before deciding. You must be 18 or older to use our service. A prescription is never guaranteed: the doctor writes one only if Zepbound is appropriate for you.

How it works with Gentle Health

  1. You complete the online intake. The doctor reviews it in writing, or by video visit where your state requires one or you ask for one.
  2. The doctor sends the prescription to LillyDirect if Zepbound is right for you. You and the doctor choose single-dose vials or the KwikPen. Make sure your account has your current mobile number and email, because LillyDirect uses them to reach you.
  3. LillyDirect checks the prescription. Lilly asks you to “allow a minimum of 3–5 business days for us to verify your prescription information” (LillyDirect FAQ).
  4. You check out. The dispensing pharmacy sends you a checkout link by text or email. You pay there, with a credit card or an HSA or FSA card.
  5. It ships. Lilly says most prescriptions ship “within 1–4 days of checkout,” and home delivery is free.

You pay us only once the doctor writes the prescription. There is no minimum, and you can cancel any time. Gentle Health does not sell or ship Zepbound, and is not affiliated with Eli Lilly.

What each month costs

Dose (weekly) LillyDirect, per 4 weeks Gentle Health doctor’s care, per month
2.5 mg $299 $28
5 mg $399 $28
7.5 mg $449 if refilled within 45 days, otherwise $499 $28
10 mg to 15 mg $449 if refilled within 45 days, otherwise $699 $28

LillyDirect prices for the single-dose vial and the KwikPen, as of October 19, 2026 (LillyDirect). One LillyDirect “month” is 28 days: four single-dose vials or one KwikPen.

Three details change the total:

  • The 45-day rule. The $449 price at 7.5 mg and above requires you to “complete your refill purchase… within 45 days of the delivery/received date” of your previous fill (Zepbound self-pay terms). A late refill costs $499 or $699.
  • Needles are extra. The KwikPen needs a new pen needle for each weekly dose, and the vial a new syringe and needle. You buy them from the pharmacy, not from us.
  • 2.5 mg is a starting dose only. The label’s maintenance doses for weight are 5 mg, 10 mg or 15 mg.

What a full year adds up to is in how much is Zepbound without insurance?

Vial or KwikPen

Both cost the same at LillyDirect. The vial holds one dose, which you draw up with a syringe each week. The KwikPen holds four weekly doses and has a dial, and it can stay out of the refrigerator longer. Zepbound vial vs KwikPen vs single-dose pen compares them in detail. The single-dose autoinjector pen is sold through insurance only, and we don’t prescribe it.

Refills and dose changes

Each prescription our doctor sends covers about two months. A week before it is due to run out, we remind you and the doctor checks in with you before writing the next one. Lilly says your LillyDirect pharmacy also reaches out about next steps for a refill within 23 days.

Dose changes go through the doctor. Lilly’s FAQ says the pharmacy “fills prescriptions as written. Any dose changes must come from your provider.” Moving up a dose means a new prescription, no sooner than every four weeks on the label’s schedule. You can message the doctor at any time about side effects or how a dose is going, at no extra cost.

When another route costs less

With commercial insurance that covers Zepbound, the single-dose pen with Lilly’s savings card can cost as little as $25 a month, and that route goes through your plan rather than self-pay (Zepbound savings terms). Gentle Health does not bill insurance or handle prior authorizations. If you want to try your plan first, does insurance cover Zepbound? walks through the request.

With Medicare, the temporary Medicare GLP-1 Bridge covers the Zepbound KwikPen for weight management with a $50 monthly copay for people who meet its criteria, through December 31, 2027 (CMS). It runs through your Part D plan’s approval, not through LillyDirect self-pay.

Compounded tirzepatide is another option we prescribe, from $169 a month with the medication included. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and compounded tirzepatide is not a generic or an equivalent version of Zepbound. How to get tirzepatide compares the routes.

If you were searching for Mounjaro, it is approved for type 2 diabetes, not weight; can you get Mounjaro for weight loss? explains why Zepbound is the usual route.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get Zepbound prescribed online? Yes. A licensed telehealth doctor can prescribe it after reviewing your health history. At Gentle Health our doctor sends the prescription to LillyDirect, and you buy the medicine there.

How much does Zepbound cost through Gentle Health? $28/month to us for the doctor’s care, plus LillyDirect’s self-pay price: $299 for 2.5 mg, $399 for 5 mg and $449 for 7.5 mg to 15 mg per four weeks if you refill within 45 days, as of October 19, 2026.

How long does it take to get Zepbound? After the prescription is sent, LillyDirect asks for at least 3–5 business days to verify it, then texts or emails a checkout link. Most orders ship within 1–4 days of checkout, with free delivery.

Do you prescribe the Zepbound single-dose pen or Mounjaro? No. We prescribe Zepbound single-dose vials and the KwikPen, both sold self-pay through LillyDirect. The single-dose pen is sold through insurance, and Mounjaro is approved for type 2 diabetes.

Can I use my insurance? Not with us: we don’t bill insurance, and LillyDirect self-pay is a cash price. If your plan covers Zepbound, the single-dose pen with Lilly’s savings card may cost you less.
