No, we don’t bill insurance or file prior authorizations. You pay $28 a month for the doctor, by card or with an HSA or FSA card. Who took part: Adults with a BMI of 30 or more (obesity), or 27 or more plus a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure. Nobody had diabetes.

What is the thyroid warning on Wegovy about?

A possible thyroid cancer risk. Semaglutide, the medicine in Wegovy, caused thyroid tumors in mice and rats given it for life; nobody knows yet whether it does in people.

What is it

How is Wegovy different from Ozempic and compounded semaglutide?

All three come as weekly semaglutide shots, and all are legal. Only Wegovy and Ozempic are FDA-approved: Wegovy for weight loss, heart risk and the liver disease MASH, Ozempic for type 2 diabetes.
