How NovoCare Pharmacy Works: Buying Wegovy Self-Pay

NovoCare Pharmacy is Novo Nordisk’s self-pay pharmacy for Wegovy. Your prescriber sends the prescription there, NovoCare texts you to set up an account and pay, and the medicine is delivered free. As of October 19, 2026, Wegovy pens cost $349 a month at every strength up to 2.4 mg, with $199 for a new patient’s first two fills of 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg (NovoCare Pharmacy). It is cash pay only: NovoCare “operates through licensed pharmacies that dispense product under a cash/self-pay model, and insurance is not accepted” (NovoCare Pharmacy terms).

Here is what it charges, how an order moves from prescription to your door, and where insurance and Medicare fit.

What NovoCare charges

Product Self-pay price per month What a month is
Wegovy pen, 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, new patient $199 first two fills only
Wegovy pen, 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.7 mg or 2.4 mg $349 1 box of 4 single-dose pens, 28 days
Wegovy HD pen, 7.2 mg $399 1 box of 4 single-dose pens, 28 days
Wegovy pill, 1.5 mg $149 1 bottle of 30 tablets
Wegovy pill, 4 mg $199 1 bottle of 30 tablets
Wegovy pill, 9 mg or 25 mg $299 1 bottle of 30 tablets

Prices from NovoCare Pharmacy and its terms, as of October 19, 2026. For comparison, the Wegovy pen’s list price is $1,349.02 a package (NovoCare).

The new-patient price is for people who have never filled a Wegovy injection prescription through NovoCare. It covers “the first two (2) 28‑day fills, with the third fill reverting back to the standard offer price.” The prescription must be written on or before December 31, 2026, received by the pharmacy by the end of that day, and shipped by January 31, 2027.

From prescription to delivery

  1. Your prescriber sends the prescription to NovoCare Pharmacy. NovoCare asks that it include “your primary email address and mobile phone number,” because that is how it reaches you.
  2. NovoCare processes it. “Once your prescription comes in, processing may take a few days. You’ll get a text with next steps when it’s ready.”
  3. You get a welcome text with a number linked to your prescription.
  4. You set up your account with NovoCare’s pharmacy partner.
  5. You pay online. NovoCare accepts credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and FSA and HSA cards.
  6. You schedule delivery. Shipping and delivery are free. You can schedule delivery as soon as your payment goes through, and tracking updates follow once it ships.

90-day fills. If your prescriber writes a 90-day prescription and you ask for that option, NovoCare sends a 90-day supply.

Pickup instead of delivery. NovoCare can transfer your prescription to your local pharmacy for pickup, and a prescription at another pharmacy can be transferred to NovoCare. Both are done by phone at 1-833-949-5527.

Where it ships. NovoCare’s terms say its pharmacy network is licensed to dispense into all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Insurance, Medicare and Medicaid

NovoCare is self-pay, but having insurance doesn’t stop you from using it. Its terms say patients “must either be uninsured or have insurance (either commercial or government-funded), but decide to self-pay.” People on Medicare or Medicaid can buy self-pay too, if they “self pay and process outside of their insurance.” In other words, you don’t submit the purchase to your plan.

What government coverage does rule out is the Wegovy savings offer. That card is for commercial insurance that covers Wegovy, brings a fill down to as little as $25 with savings capped at $100 a month, and excludes government beneficiaries. If your commercial plan covers Wegovy, that is usually cheaper than self-pay. If you are on Medicare, the temporary Medicare GLP-1 Bridge covers the Wegovy injection for weight management for eligible people, with a $50 monthly copay, through December 31, 2027.

One more condition: NovoCare’s program is for people “prescribed Wegovy® or Ozempic® for an FDA-approved indication within that product’s labeling.” The prescription has to be for a use Wegovy is approved for, such as long-term weight management in people with obesity, or overweight plus a weight-related condition.

Where a prescriber comes in

NovoCare fills prescriptions; it doesn’t write them. You need a licensed prescriber who decides Wegovy is right for you and sends the prescription. That can be your own doctor, or a telehealth doctor.

At Gentle Health, our doctor prescribes the Wegovy pen in all 41 jurisdictions where our physician is licensed. You complete an online intake, and the doctor reviews it in writing or by video visit, depending on your state’s rules. If Wegovy is right for you, the doctor sends the prescription to NovoCare. You pay us $28/month for the doctor’s care, including messaging and video visits, and NovoCare for the medicine. You pay us only once the doctor writes the prescription, there is no minimum, and you can cancel any time. Dose changes, refills and side-effect questions go through the doctor, who sends NovoCare a new prescription when the dose changes. How our care fee compares with other online providers is on our comparison page.

We don’t prescribe the Wegovy pill or Ozempic, and we don’t sell or ship any brand-name medicine. The steps, and what a first year costs, are in how to get a Wegovy prescription online. Every other route is in how do you get Wegovy?, and prices with insurance are in how much does Wegovy cost?
