The prescription then goes to NovoCare Pharmacy, where the patient pays for the product. Gentle Health’s $28-per-month care fee begins only if a prescription is written. Messaging and video visits are part of that fee, and no prescription is promised.
A $39 first month does not describe the ongoing doctor-care cost at Ro or Hims & Hers. Their month-to-month rate was $149 at each practice when our comparison page was checked October 19, 2026. Ro’s year-paid-in-advance option has a lower monthly equivalent. In Michigan, Gentle Health care is $28 each month, and Wegovy itself is purchased separately from the pharmacy.
Insurance and public-program choices in Michigan
An insured route might cost less than buying Wegovy directly for cash. In Michigan, verify the plan’s preferred pharmacy, covered device or tablet, authorization conditions and expected copay first. Our practice is self-pay for doctor care; the insurer’s paperwork and payment are not handled by Gentle Health.
Since January 2026, Michigan Medicaid has restricted Wegovy for obesity to people classified as morbidly obese after documented failure of other appropriate weight-loss interventions; it is considered to avert higher-cost bariatric surgery. For Medicare in Michigan, first ask whether the plan will approve the temporary GLP-1 Bridge. Its listed weight-management product for this article is the Wegovy injection; an eligible beneficiary’s copay is $50. The program lasts from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027, subject to clinical requirements. This is distinct from Gentle Health self-pay care. CMS last modified its provider guidance August 6, 2026.

The doctor considers your medical history, other medicines and the Wegovy label before deciding; an online form alone does not establish that the medicine is right for you in Michigan. NovoCare Wegovy pen prices for Michigan
NovoCare’s October 19, 2026 terms list a Wegovy injection-pen fill at $349 for 28 days, across 0.25–2.4 mg. The package holds four single-dose pens. Some new Michigan patients may instead qualify for $199 on each of their first two starter-strength fills at 0.25 or 0.5 mg; the third fill returns to $349.
NovoCare separately lists Wegovy HD 7.2 mg at $399 per 28-day fill under its savings offer, checked October 23, 2026. Gentle Health can prescribe that higher-dose pen when clinically appropriate.
For a Michigan resident, the Wegovy starter promotion has two deadlines: NovoCare must receive a written prescription by December 31, 2026, and ship by January 31, 2027. Only qualifying new patients’ first two 0.25- or 0.5-mg pen fills can be $199. The standard price follows. Verify terms when buying. We prescribe the pen, not the Wegovy pill.
The medicine price above does not include Gentle Health’s $28 monthly care fee. That pays for doctor follow-up, messaging and video appointments for Michigan adults after a prescription is written. There is no required prepayment, visit surcharge or minimum commitment, and cancellation is available any time. The dispensing pharmacy, not our practice, sells and sends Wegovy.
The Wegovy pen and pharmacy handoff in Michigan
Wegovy pens are used once a week, one built-in-needle pen at a time. A Michigan patient’s clinician may follow the label schedule: 0.25 mg to start, then 0.5, 1 and 1.7 mg with ordinarily four weeks at each step. The adult maintenance options are 1.7 and 2.4 mg, and the label recommends 2.4 mg. Individual dosing should not follow the promotion calendar. For adult weight reduction, the current Wegovy label also permits 7.2 mg once weekly after at least four weeks at 2.4 mg when additional weight reduction is clinically indicated; the doctor decides whether to use it.
A prescription is only the beginning of the pharmacy process for Wegovy in Michigan. NovoCare sends a text after processing so you can make an account, pay and select pickup or delivery. The Wegovy pen is FDA-approved for weight management in adults with obesity or adults with overweight and a weight-related condition, alongside diet and activity. The Michigan doctor checks your history and other medicines; the label warns about thyroid C-cell tumors and contraindicates use with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2.
