Florida patients who want the Wegovy injection pen can request an evaluation from our licensed doctor online. If the doctor finds that Wegovy is appropriate, the prescription goes to NovoCare Pharmacy, where you buy the pens. Gentle Health charges $28 a month for the doctor’s care, starting only after a prescription is written. The pharmacy charges separately for the medication.
Our brand-name price comparison puts that care fee beside Ro and Hims & Hers: their published ongoing month-to-month doctor-care fee is $149 a month, as checked October 19, 2026. Each advertises a $39 first month, and Ro has a lower monthly-equivalent fee on an annual prepaid plan. For a useful comparison, add the medicine cost to each care fee and check the terms you would actually choose.
The Florida online evaluation
In Florida, a licensed physician reviews your medical intake online and decides whether a video visit is needed. A video visit is also available if you ask for one. The doctor, not an online form, makes the treatment decision after considering your health history, other medicines and the Wegovy label. A prescription is never guaranteed.
Our doctor, James Simmons, MD, holds Florida license ME183513. The Florida Department of Health practitioner search lets you verify it. We can serve eligible adults in Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, St. Petersburg and other Florida communities covered by our Florida service page. Our practice treats adults 18 and older.
The Wegovy pen is FDA-approved, with diet and physical activity, for long-term weight management in adults with obesity or adults with overweight and a weight-related condition. The label also has other indications. It carries a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumors and contraindications for a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2. Read the Wegovy prescribing information and discuss your own risks with the doctor.
NovoCare’s self-pay pen prices
As of October 19, 2026, a regular four-pen fill at NovoCare Pharmacy costs $349 for each Wegovy strength from 0.25 mg through 2.4 mg. A new patient who has never filled a Wegovy injection prescription through NovoCare can pay $199 for each of the first two 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg fills, if the offer conditions are met. The third fill returns to the regular price (NovoCare pharmacy terms). A box of four single-dose pens is a 28-day supply, so a calendar year may require 13 fills.
NovoCare separately lists Wegovy HD 7.2 mg at $399 per 28-day fill under its savings offer, checked October 23, 2026. Gentle Health can prescribe that higher-dose pen when clinically appropriate.
The temporary $199 offer requires a prescription written and received by the end of December 31, 2026, with shipping by January 31, 2027. Because offers can change, check NovoCare’s current terms before paying, especially if your care begins near the cutoff. We prescribe the Wegovy pen, not the Wegovy pill.
Your Gentle Health doctor-care fee is $28 each calendar month, in addition to NovoCare’s medication charge. The fee includes messaging and video visits; there is no prepayment, no per-visit fee and no minimum commitment. You pay us only once the doctor writes a prescription, and you can cancel any time. Gentle Health does not sell, ship or dispense Wegovy and does not bill insurance.
From prescription to delivery
Once the doctor sends an appropriate prescription, NovoCare processes it and texts you the next steps. The text lets you set up an account, pay online and choose delivery or pickup. NovoCare says processing can take a few days and shipping is free; it does not publish a universal delivery-day promise (NovoCare Wegovy page). See how NovoCare Pharmacy works for the handoff and payment options.
Each pen has its needle built in and is used once. The label starts at 0.25 mg weekly, then generally steps up at four-week intervals through 0.5 mg, 1 mg and 1.7 mg. The adult weight-management maintenance dose is 1.7 mg or 2.4 mg, with 2.4 mg recommended; the doctor can adjust the pace based on tolerability. NovoCare fills the dose written on the prescription, so a dose change requires the doctor to send a new one. For adult weight reduction, the current Wegovy label also permits 7.2 mg once weekly after at least four weeks at 2.4 mg when additional weight reduction is clinically indicated; the doctor decides whether to use it.
Florida coverage routes to compare
If your commercial insurance covers Wegovy, its pharmacy route may cost less than NovoCare self-pay. Check the exact pen, any prior authorization and your copay before choosing. If you use Florida Medicaid, ask your plan about its current Wegovy rules rather than assuming this self-pay offer will be reimbursed.
For eligible Florida Medicare patients, the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge lists the Wegovy injection as an eligible weight-management drug with a $50 copay. It runs July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027, and requires its own clinical and approval criteria. The CMS provider page was last modified August 6, 2026. This is a Medicare route, not one billed by Gentle Health.
Our Florida compounded GLP-1 guide discusses another choice. Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved and is not a generic or equivalent version of Wegovy. Gentle Health is not affiliated with Novo Nordisk.
