The first question for an Ohio adult is whether Wegovy is medically suitable, not which checkout button to use. Our doctor assesses that through Gentle Health’s online care, with video and messaging available. An appropriate prescription goes to NovoCare Pharmacy; its medication bill is separate. Gentle Health charges $28 a month for doctor care beginning after the prescription. Clinical approval cannot be guaranteed.
Here is the apples-to-apples care fee for an Ohio reader: $28 per month with Gentle Health, or $149 per month on Ro’s and Hims & Hers’ ongoing month-to-month plans as of October 19, 2026. Their $39 introductory months and Ro’s discounted prepaid year matter if you compare the full commitment. The full price table shows those terms; pharmacy charges for Wegovy are extra.
NovoCare Wegovy pen prices for Ohio
In Ohio, a self-pay Wegovy pen purchase from NovoCare is normally $349 per 28-day fill at 0.25–2.4 mg. It contains four single-use pens. NovoCare’s terms checked October 19, 2026 allow certain new patients to pay $199 for each of their first two 0.25- or 0.5-mg fills; the ordinary $349 resumes with fill three.
NovoCare separately lists Wegovy HD 7.2 mg at $399 per 28-day fill under its savings offer, checked October 23, 2026. Gentle Health can prescribe that higher-dose pen when clinically appropriate.
Not every Wegovy pen fill qualifies for NovoCare’s $199 opening offer. It covers the first two 0.25- or 0.5-mg fills for eligible new patients; the prescription must arrive by December 31, 2026, and shipment occur by January 31, 2027. An Ohio patient should recheck checkout terms.
Gentle Health’s prescribed format is the pen rather than the pill.
Our $28 doctor-care charge is monthly, while the Wegovy medicine has its own pharmacy bill. For Ohio patients, care includes messages and video visits with no prepayment, minimum term or per-visit fee. We start charging only after a prescription is written, and you can cancel any time. Gentle Health does not sell or ship the medication.
The Ohio evaluation
In Ohio, a licensed physician reviews your medical intake online and decides whether a video visit is needed. You can ask for a video visit. The doctor considers your medical history, other medicines and the Wegovy label before deciding; an online form alone does not establish that the medicine is right for you in Ohio. Gentle Health serves adults 18 and older.
James Simmons, MD, holds Ohio medical license 35C.004519. Check that number with the State Medical Board of Ohio before you start. Our service covers eligible adults in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo and other communities in Ohio; the current Ohio service page has the local service details.
There is no automatic approval for Wegovy in Ohio. If the doctor prescribes, follow-up questions, dose decisions, messaging and video visits are part of the monthly care. If the doctor does not prescribe, the brand-care fee does not start.
The Wegovy pen and pharmacy handoff in Ohio
For Wegovy in Ohio, the prescribed dose and the cash offer are separate questions. The FDA label starts the single-use, built-in-needle pen at 0.25 mg each week. Usual four-week steps take it to 0.5, 1 and 1.7 mg; maintenance can be 1.7 or 2.4 mg, with 2.4 mg recommended. Only the doctor chooses the patient’s dose plan. For adult weight reduction, the current Wegovy label also permits 7.2 mg once weekly after at least four weeks at 2.4 mg when additional weight reduction is clinically indicated; the doctor decides whether to use it.
What follows an Ohio Wegovy prescription? NovoCare processes the order, texts the patient to set up an account and complete payment, and offers pickup or free delivery. It says processing can take a few days but does not promise a fixed shipping interval (NovoCare’s page). The doctor must send a new prescription if the dose changes. Read the NovoCare guide for the handoff.
The Wegovy pen is FDA-approved for weight management in adults with obesity or adults with overweight and a weight-related condition, alongside diet and activity. The Ohio doctor checks your history and other medicines; the label warns about thyroid C-cell tumors and contraindicates use with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2. Gentle Health is not affiliated with Novo Nordisk.
Insurance and public-program choices in Ohio
Do not assume the manufacturer’s advertised cash offer beats your Ohio insurance benefit. Have your plan check the specific Wegovy form, any prior-approval step and your out-of-pocket charge. Gentle Health does not bill that plan or manage authorization requests.
Ohio Medicaid’s December 2025 policy does not cover GLP-1 drugs for weight loss; its preferred-drug claims require a documented type 2 diabetes diagnosis. State program source. Check your own plan’s current criteria; a manufacturer’s cash price does not establish Medicaid coverage or reimbursement.
Some Ohio Medicare beneficiaries may qualify for the Wegovy injection through the CMS GLP-1 Bridge, rather than self-pay purchase. It specifies a $50 copay, but medical eligibility and plan approval still apply. CMS dates this temporary program July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027, and last modified its provider page August 6, 2026. Gentle Health’s cash arrangement is not the Bridge.
Other treatment routes in Ohio
Our Ohio GLP-1 guide covers the separate compounded route. Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved and is not a generic or equivalent version of Wegovy.
