Getting Foundayo in Illinois

For an adult in Illinois, obtaining Foundayo begins with a doctor deciding whether it fits the patient’s health needs. Gentle Health offers that review online, with messaging and video visits included. If the doctor prescribes, LillyDirect Pharmacy fills the order and charges separately for the medicine. Our care costs $28 monthly, starting only after a prescription is written; approval is never automatic.

A $39 first month does not describe the ongoing doctor-care cost at Ro or Hims & Hers. Their month-to-month rate was $149 at each practice when our comparison page was checked October 19, 2026. Ro’s year-paid-in-advance option has a lower monthly equivalent. In Illinois, Gentle Health care is $28 each month, and Foundayo itself is purchased separately from the pharmacy.

Foundayo tablet price and dose steps for Illinois

An Illinois patient’s Foundayo dose should follow the doctor’s instructions rather than a discount. The prescribing information begins at 0.8 mg daily for 30 days or more, then 2.5 mg, with at least 30 days between later increases. The tablet can be taken with or without food. Strengths offered are 0.8, 2.5, 5.5, 9, 14.5 and 17.2 mg.

When comparing Foundayo in Illinois, use a 30-tablet fill: LillyDirect listed 0.8 and 2.5 mg at $149, 5.5 mg at $199, and 9 mg at $299 as of October 19, 2026. For 14.5 and 17.2 mg, a 45-day qualifying refill keeps $299; otherwise it is $349. The 2.5- and 5.5-mg reductions have a December 31, 2026 end date. Check the manufacturer terms and our price guide.

Budget two separate charges for Foundayo: $28 each calendar month for our medical service and the pharmacy’s medication price. In Illinois, that care fee starts only if the doctor prescribes. Video visits and messages are included; there is no prepaid term or per-visit charge, and you may cancel whenever you choose. We do not dispense or deliver the drug.

The Illinois evaluation

In Illinois, a licensed physician reviews your medical intake online and decides whether a video visit is needed. You can ask for a video visit. The doctor considers your medical history, other medicines and the Foundayo label before deciding; an online form alone does not establish that the medicine is right for you in Illinois. Gentle Health serves adults 18 and older.

James Simmons, MD, holds Illinois medical license 036.181742. Check that number with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) before you start. Our service covers eligible adults in Chicago, Aurora, Joliet, Naperville and other communities in Illinois; the current Illinois service page has the local service details.

There is no automatic approval for Foundayo in Illinois. If the doctor prescribes, follow-up questions, dose decisions, messaging and video visits are part of the monthly care. If the doctor does not prescribe, the brand-care fee does not start.

From an Illinois prescription to LillyDirect delivery

After an appropriate Foundayo prescription is sent from Illinois, LillyDirect’s dispensing partner contacts the patient by email or text to arrange payment. Lilly advises allowing at least 3–5 business days for verification, then says most orders ship within 1–4 days of checkout with free home delivery. The dates are not guaranteed (LillyDirect FAQ). The LillyDirect guide walks through the handoff.

For an Illinois buyer at Foundayo’s two highest strengths, timing affects price: complete the next refill purchase within 45 days after delivery to keep $299. Outside that window the fill is $349. The pharmacist cannot switch the prescribed dose to meet an offer; a doctor must write any dose change.

Foundayo is FDA-approved for adult weight management under the conditions in its prescribing information, not for type 2 diabetes. The Illinois doctor reviews relevant risks and other medicines; Foundayo is contraindicated with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2. Gentle Health is not affiliated with Eli Lilly.

Insurance and public-program choices in Illinois

For Illinois patients with commercial coverage, the relevant comparison is the plan’s actual Foundayo copay and rules versus self-pay. Ask whether the prescribed form is covered and which pharmacy must fill it. We provide self-pay doctor care and do not handle the insurance claim or prior authorization.

If you use Illinois Medicaid, check your plan’s current Foundayo criteria directly; a manufacturer’s cash price does not establish Medicaid coverage or reimbursement.

The CMS provider guide names Foundayo tablets among the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge options for weight management. Eligible people pay a $50 copay only after meeting clinical and plan-approval rules. The Bridge operates July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027; CMS marked the page modified August 6, 2026. An Illinois reader should not confuse this Medicare route with our separately billed self-pay care.
