GLP-1 telehealth in West Virginia: how it works.
Telehealth rules vary by state, and so does how our service works. Here is exactly what to expect in West Virginia — with the public records to verify our licensure.
- In West Virginia, care starts with a live video visit — booked online, taken from home.
- James Simmons, MD is licensed to practice in West Virginia (license 37056). Verify it yourself with the West Virginia Board of Medicine.
- Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are still prescribed lawfully, in narrower cases than before the FDA shortages ended. Is compounded tirzepatide still legal in 2026? explains the federal rules with the FDA’s own dates, and how to check any provider.

Do I need to visit a clinic in Morgantown?
Not to start treatment. Starting requires no office: the intake is online, your first appointment is a video call with a physician licensed in West Virginia, and your medication ships overnight from a licensed US pharmacy to your Morgantown address. West Virginia's telehealth statute (W. Va. Code § 30-1-26(b)(4)) directs each licensing board's telehealth rule to require that an established patient, meaning one seen face-to-face within the past three years by the practitioner or a same-specialty colleague in their group, visit an in-person health care practitioner within 12 months of the first telemedicine service, or telemedicine is no longer available until they do; the practitioner may suspend this case by case. The Board of Medicine's current telehealth rule does not repeat this requirement, and the statute does not say how it applies to a patient first seen by telehealth. The visit does not have to be with us: your own doctor counts.
How much does GLP-1 treatment cost in Morgantown?
The same prices as everywhere in West Virginia: semaglutide from $135/month (weekly injections) and tirzepatide from $169/month. The price includes the medication itself, your doctor visits, and overnight shipping to Morgantown. There is no membership fee, and the intake and your doctor's first review or visit are free.
Can I get semaglutide or tirzepatide in Morgantown?
Yes. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are available to Morgantown patients as weekly injections, prescribed after an online video visit with a physician licensed in West Virginia and shipped overnight from a licensed US pharmacy.
How does medication delivery work in Morgantown?
Your prescription is filled by a licensed US pharmacy and shipped overnight in refrigerated, cold-chain packaging to your Morgantown address, with no pharmacy pickup. Refills ship the same way.
How fast does medication arrive in Morgantown?
Once you start medication, the pharmacy typically fills and ships your order within 5–7 business days, and it travels overnight once it ships.
Do you take insurance?
Not at this time. For compounded medicine we charge one all-in monthly price with the medication, doctor visits, and shipping included, so there is no prior authorization. Brand-name care is $28/month for the doctor, and you buy the medicine from the maker's pharmacy. HSA and FSA cards are accepted at checkout, and we provide itemized receipts and a Letter of Medical Necessity on request.
Who prescribes my medication?
James Simmons, MD, our medical director, is licensed in West Virginia and board-certified in emergency medicine (ABEM). He reviews your intake, meets with you over video, and supervises your treatment over time.
