Your first evaluation and video visit with the doctor are free.

If the doctor finds a program right for you, its price depends on the medication. The price you see below is the whole price, billed monthly, with no shipping fees or added taxes. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

How it works here

GLP-1 telehealth in Oklahoma: how it works.

Telehealth rules vary by state, and so does how our service works. Here is exactly what to expect in Oklahoma — with the public records to verify our licensure.

  • In Oklahoma, a licensed physician reviews your medical intake online and decides whether a video visit is needed.
  • James Simmons, MD is licensed to practice in Oklahoma (license 50368). Verify it yourself with the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure & Supervision.
  • Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are still prescribed lawfully, in narrower cases than before the FDA shortages ended. Is compounded tirzepatide still legal in 2026? explains the federal rules with the FDA’s own dates, and how to check any provider.

Law and coverage answers checked against primary sources on September 14, 2026.

Can I get a GLP-1 prescription online in Oklahoma?

Yes. You complete a short medical intake online, and a doctor licensed in Oklahoma personally reviews it — Oklahoma's Medical Board requires information equivalent to a face-to-face encounter, so if your form and messages cannot give your doctor that, you will be asked to book a video visit. If treatment is appropriate for you, your prescription is filled by a licensed US pharmacy and shipped overnight to your door anywhere in Oklahoma. You may not need to visit a clinic in person.

How much does GLP-1 treatment cost in Oklahoma?

Semaglutide injections start at $135/month and tirzepatide at $169/month. The price includes the medication itself, your doctor visits, ongoing medical supervision, and overnight refrigerated shipping. There is no membership fee, and the intake and your doctor's first review or visit are free: you pay nothing until you choose to start medication.

Do you take insurance?

Not at this time. For compounded medicine we charge one all-in monthly price with the medication, doctor visits, and shipping included, so there is no prior authorization. Brand-name care is $28/month for the doctor, and you buy the medicine from the maker's pharmacy. HSA and FSA cards are accepted at checkout, and we provide itemized receipts and a Letter of Medical Necessity on request.

Which medications do you prescribe?

Compounded semaglutide (the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic) and compounded tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Zepbound and Mounjaro), each as a weekly injection. Tirzepatide and semaglutide injections may contain nothing added or a B vitamin. Your doctor recommends the medication, form, and dose that fit your health history and goals.

Who prescribes my medication?

James Simmons, MD, our medical director, is licensed in Oklahoma and board-certified in emergency medicine (ABEM). He personally reviews your intake, meets with you over video when either of you wants a visit, and supervises your treatment over time.

Where in Oklahoma do you serve?

All of Oklahoma. Care starts online and medication ships overnight statewide, so care is the same whether you're in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, Broken Arrow, or a town without a weight-management clinic nearby.

Does Medicare or SoonerCare cover this?

Not through Gentle Health. We do not bill Medicare, SoonerCare or private insurance, and everyone pays the prices shown on this page. To pursue coverage instead you would need a provider who accepts your plan and prescribes a medication it covers — the FDA-approved brands, not a compounded preparation. Where each programme stands:

  1. SoonerCare: Not covered for weight loss. The rule states that drugs used primarily for the treatment of obesity are not covered, and SoonerCare's Metabolic Disorders criteria approve Wegovy only for members with established cardiovascular disease or MASH, and Zepbound only for obstructive sleep apnea.
  2. Medicare: Coverage may still be possible through the federal GLP-1 Bridge: a $50 copay for Wegovy, Zepbound or Foundayo through December 31, 2027, for Part D enrollees with a BMI of 35 or more, or lower with specific heart, stroke, artery, blood-pressure, kidney or prediabetes conditions. Type 2 diabetes, moderate-to-severe sleep apnea and MASH are covered through regular Part D instead.

Do I need a video visit in Oklahoma, or is an online review enough?

It depends on what your doctor needs to see. You start with the online form; a doctor licensed in Oklahoma reviews it and, before deciding, may message you with follow-up questions or ask you to book a video visit. Oklahoma lets the physician-patient relationship be formed by telemedicine (Title 59 § 478.1(A)) once the physician confirms your identity and physical location and shares their credentials. The Medical Board's telemedicine rule (OAC 435:10-7-13) requires that the information your doctor has be equivalent to a face-to-face encounter, including a documented history and physical exam, so if your form and messages cannot give your doctor that, you will be asked to book a video visit. The statute's only telemedicine prescribing bar covers opiates, benzodiazepines and carisoprodol.

Can an app or automated chat prescribe my medication in Oklahoma?

No. Oklahoma's statutory definition of telemedicine excludes automated text messages or automated mobile applications as the only interaction: a health care professional has to take part. Online exchanges between you and that professional, and store-and-forward review of your information, do count. Prescribing without a sufficient examination is unprofessional conduct, and the Medical Board's rules expect the information your doctor has to be equivalent to a face-to-face encounter.
