GLP-1 telehealth in Nevada: how it works.
Telehealth rules vary by state, and so does how our service works. Here is exactly what to expect in Nevada — with the public records to verify our licensure.
- In Nevada, a licensed physician reviews your medical intake online and decides whether a video visit is needed.
- James Simmons, MD is licensed to practice in Nevada (license 30009). Verify it yourself with the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are still prescribed lawfully, in narrower cases than before the FDA shortages ended. Is compounded tirzepatide still legal in 2026? explains the federal rules with the FDA’s own dates, and how to check any provider.
Law and coverage answers checked against primary sources on September 14, 2026.
Can I get a GLP-1 prescription online in Nevada?
Yes. You complete a short medical intake online, and a doctor licensed in Nevada personally reviews it — no video visit needed (you can book one if you want it). If treatment is appropriate for you, your prescription is filled by a licensed US pharmacy and shipped overnight to your door anywhere in Nevada. You don't need to visit a clinic to start treatment.
How much does GLP-1 treatment cost in Nevada?
Semaglutide injections start at $135/month and tirzepatide at $169/month. The price includes the medication itself, your doctor visits, ongoing medical supervision, and overnight refrigerated shipping. There is no membership fee, and the intake and your doctor's first review or visit are free: you pay nothing until you choose to start medication.
Do you take insurance?
Not at this time. For compounded medicine we charge one all-in monthly price with the medication, doctor visits, and shipping included, so there is no prior authorization. Brand-name care is $28/month for the doctor, and you buy the medicine from the maker's pharmacy. HSA and FSA cards are accepted at checkout, and we provide itemized receipts and a Letter of Medical Necessity on request.
Which medications do you prescribe?
Compounded semaglutide (the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic) and compounded tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Zepbound and Mounjaro), each as a weekly injection. Tirzepatide and semaglutide injections may contain nothing added or a B vitamin. Your doctor recommends the medication, form, and dose that fit your health history and goals.
Who prescribes my medication?
James Simmons, MD, our medical director, is licensed in Nevada and board-certified in emergency medicine (ABEM). He personally reviews your intake, meets with you over video when either of you wants a visit, and supervises your treatment over time.
Where in Nevada do you serve?
All of Nevada. Care is fully online and medication ships overnight statewide, so care is the same whether you're in Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno, North Las Vegas, or a town without a weight-management clinic nearby.
Does Medicare or Nevada Medicaid cover this?
Not through Gentle Health. We do not bill Medicare, Nevada Medicaid or private insurance, and everyone pays the prices shown on this page. To pursue coverage instead you would need a provider who accepts your plan and prescribes a medication it covers — the FDA-approved brands, not a compounded preparation. Where each programme stands:
- Nevada Medicaid: Not covered for weight management — the Medicaid Services Manual excludes those agents outright. Wegovy is reachable only for cardiovascular risk, prescribed by or with a cardiologist or vascular specialist, or for the liver disease MASH with fibrosis stage 2 or 3; Zepbound only for moderate to severe sleep apnea, normally documented by a sleep study.
- Medicare: Coverage may still be possible through the federal GLP-1 Bridge: a $50 copay for Wegovy, Zepbound or Foundayo through December 31, 2027, for Part D enrollees with a BMI of 35 or more, or lower with specific heart, stroke, artery, blood-pressure, kidney or prediabetes conditions. Type 2 diabetes, moderate-to-severe sleep apnea and MASH are covered through regular Part D instead.
Do I need a video visit in Nevada, or is an online review enough?
An online review is enough. NRS 629.515 lets the patient relationship be established by telehealth where that is clinically appropriate, with no in-person examination required, and Nevada's definition expressly includes asynchronous store-and-forward and audio-only care. Nevada's bona fide relationship rule, which pharmacists apply to out-of-state prescriptions, covers only Schedule II to IV controlled substances, which GLP-1s are not.
What does Nevada require of an online pharmacy?
Two things rather than one. An out-of-state pharmacy needs a Nevada nonresident licence under NRS 639.2328, and a pharmacy operating over the internet needs a separate Board certification under NRS 639.23288. A toll-free number reaching a pharmacist must appear on every Nevada label.
