GLP-1 telehealth in Maryland: how it works.
Telehealth rules vary by state, and so does how our service works. Here is exactly what to expect in Maryland — with the public records to verify our licensure.
- In Maryland, a licensed physician reviews your medical intake online and decides whether a video visit is needed.
- James Simmons, MD is licensed to practice in Maryland (license D0107726). Verify it yourself with the Maryland Board of Physicians.
- Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are still prescribed lawfully, in narrower cases than before the FDA shortages ended. Is compounded tirzepatide still legal in 2026? explains the federal rules with the FDA’s own dates, and how to check any provider.

Do I need to visit a clinic in Ellicott City?
No. Care starts online: a physician licensed in Maryland reviews your intake and prescribes when appropriate, and you can book a video visit if you want one. A licensed US pharmacy ships your medication overnight to your Ellicott City address. Nothing about starting treatment requires leaving home.
How much does GLP-1 treatment cost in Ellicott City?
One all-in monthly price, identical across Maryland: semaglutide from $135/month (weekly injections) and tirzepatide from $169/month. The medication, your doctor visits, and overnight shipping to Ellicott City are all included, with no membership fee. The intake and your doctor's first review or visit are free.
Can I get semaglutide or tirzepatide in Ellicott City?
Yes. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are available to Ellicott City patients as weekly injections, prescribed after an online medical review with a physician licensed in Maryland and shipped overnight from a licensed US pharmacy.
How does medication delivery work in Ellicott City?
Your prescription is filled by a licensed US pharmacy and shipped overnight in refrigerated, cold-chain packaging to your Ellicott City address, with no pharmacy pickup. Refills ship the same way.
How fast does medication arrive in Ellicott City?
Once you start medication, the pharmacy typically fills and ships your order within 5–7 business days, and it travels overnight once it ships.
Do you take insurance?
Not at this time. For compounded medicine we charge one all-in monthly price with the medication, doctor visits, and shipping included, so there is no prior authorization. Brand-name care is $28/month for the doctor, and you buy the medicine from the maker's pharmacy. HSA and FSA cards are accepted at checkout, and we provide itemized receipts and a Letter of Medical Necessity on request.
Who prescribes my medication?
James Simmons, MD, our medical director, is licensed in Maryland and board-certified in emergency medicine (ABEM). He personally reviews your intake, meets with you over video when either of you wants a visit, and supervises your treatment over time.
