GLP-1 telehealth in Delaware: how it works.
Telehealth rules vary by state, and so does how our service works. Here is exactly what to expect in Delaware — with the public records to verify our licensure.
- In Delaware, a licensed physician reviews your medical intake online and decides whether a video visit is needed.
- James Simmons, MD is licensed to practice in Delaware (license C1-0029948). Verify it yourself with the Delaware Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline.
- Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are still prescribed lawfully, in narrower cases than before the FDA shortages ended. Is compounded tirzepatide still legal in 2026? explains the federal rules with the FDA’s own dates, and how to check any provider.
Law and coverage answers checked against primary sources on September 13, 2026.
Can I get a GLP-1 prescription online in Delaware?
Yes. You complete a short medical intake online, and a doctor licensed in Delaware personally reviews it — Delaware requires your doctor to meet one of its telehealth diagnosis standards before treating you, so they may message you with questions or ask you to book a video visit. If treatment is appropriate for you, your prescription is filled by a licensed US pharmacy and shipped overnight to your door anywhere in Delaware. You may not need to visit a clinic in person.
How much does GLP-1 treatment cost in Delaware?
Semaglutide injections start at $135/month and tirzepatide at $169/month. The price includes the medication itself, your doctor visits, ongoing medical supervision, and overnight refrigerated shipping. There is no membership fee, and the intake and your doctor's first review or visit are free: you pay nothing until you choose to start medication.
Do you take insurance?
Not at this time. For compounded medicine we charge one all-in monthly price with the medication, doctor visits, and shipping included, so there is no prior authorization. Brand-name care is $28/month for the doctor, and you buy the medicine from the maker's pharmacy. HSA and FSA cards are accepted at checkout, and we provide itemized receipts and a Letter of Medical Necessity on request.
Which medications do you prescribe?
Compounded semaglutide (the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic) and compounded tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Zepbound and Mounjaro), each as a weekly injection. Tirzepatide and semaglutide injections may contain nothing added or a B vitamin. Your doctor recommends the medication, form, and dose that fit your health history and goals.
Who prescribes my medication?
James Simmons, MD, our medical director, is licensed in Delaware and board-certified in emergency medicine (ABEM). He personally reviews your intake, meets with you over video when either of you wants a visit, and supervises your treatment over time.
Where in Delaware do you serve?
All of Delaware. Care starts online and medication ships overnight statewide, so care is the same whether you're in Wilmington, Dover, Newark, Middletown, or a town without a weight-management clinic nearby.
Do I need a video visit in Delaware, or is an online review enough?
An online review can be enough. Title 24, chapter 60 of the Delaware Code lets the provider-patient relationship be established either in person or through telehealth (§ 6003(a)), and § 6003(b) expressly permits either synchronous or asynchronous store-and-forward review at the same standard of care. Before diagnosing and treating, § 6004(a) requires the provider to examine you in person, have a Delaware-licensed provider with you, make the diagnosis using audio or visual communication, or meet professional-society telemedicine guidelines. Another limit is § 6003(c): in the absence of a proper provider-patient relationship, a provider may not issue a prescription solely in response to an internet questionnaire, an internet consult or a telephone consult.
Does a doctor outside Delaware need permission to treat me here?
Yes, and it is more than a formality. Under § 6002 a clinician practising into Delaware without an applicable licensure compact must hold an interstate telehealth registration from the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation, and in taking it consents to Delaware's jurisdiction and to discipline by its boards. The state you live in keeps authority over the doctor treating you.
What does Delaware require of a pharmacy shipping medication to me?
A Delaware nonresident pharmacy licence. Under 24 Del. C. § 2535, the pharmacy must hold a licence in good standing in every state where it is or was licensed and submit its most recent inspection report, done by or for its home-state licensing authority, or, if that authority has not done a qualifying inspection, a report from NABP's Verified Pharmacy Program or another entity the Board accepts. Delaware also legislates what is in the box: every shipping container must include a written notice about heat, cold and humidity, and a phone line staffed by a pharmacist.
Serving all of Delaware
Care starts online and medication ships overnight statewide, so care is the same in every ZIP code, including:
